Chudasama

The Chudasama is a Rajput clan primarily belonging to the Samma Yadava dynasty of Saurashtra. They are descendants of Chudachandra, the son of a Samma ruler of Sindh. Over time, the Chudasamas became one of the most powerful noble families in Saurashtra, playing key roles in its administration and military especially during the reigns of Grahara, Navghana, Khengara, and Mandalika.

Ra' Khengar IV, a renowned ruler of Saurashtra, forced the army of Mahmud Tughlaq of the Delhi Sultanate to retreat. As a result, Tughlaq had to accept defeat and agree to a treaty. According to the Revati Kund inscription, this ruler had 84 feudatories, highlighting the dominance of the Ra of Saurashtra. There were many such brilliant rulers, reflecting the power and prestige of the Chudasama dynasty.
